A SHASSIC Assessor must be a qualified person and have a certain number of years of working experience in construction industry.
The criteria are:
- A person who has attended a one-day SHASSIC course and passed the examination and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry, or
- A person who has attended a one-day SHASSIC course and certified as OSH Lead Auditor with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the construction industry (construction project site), or
- SHO or SSS who have valid registration with DOSH and CIDB

Contractors may engage any qualified person above to carry out SHASSIC assessment (self-assessment), or they can make arrangement with CIDB Malaysia to carry out official SHASSIC assessment via SHASSIC portal, http://shassic.cidb.gov.my
